About this place
The Chapel of San Cataldo is a small stone church at the entrance to Pietrapertosa, beneath the rocks of the Norman-Swabian castle. It is one of the first buildings you see when arriving in the village.
History
It is probably one of the oldest churches in Pietrapertosa, with origins thought to date back to the 12th century. In the early 20th century it was rebuilt and enlarged by the village’s stonemasons, who worked the local stone.
