Brindisi Montagna stands at about 800 metres in the central-northern part of the province of Potenza, in an area inhabited since ancient times. The ruins of its castle crown the hill, while below lies the Grancia Park, Italy’s first rural history park, with 50 hectares of woodland and family attractions.

In summer the park’s 3,500-seat amphitheatre hosts «La storia bandita», a large outdoor show with hundreds of volunteers in costume telling the story of brigandage and of Carmine Crocco.
