Calvera

A Pollino village above the Serrapotamo valley

Discover Calvera

Calvera is one of the smallest villages in Basilicata: it stands at about 630 metres in the northern part of the Pollino National Park, on the slopes of Monte Mancino above the Serrapotamo valley. The first records date from 1280.

The village keeps several noble houses and the church of the Madonna del Carmine; don’t miss the Anamnesis photography museum and, nearby, the Vallone waterfalls. Calvera is part of the Mischiglio Way, named after the valley’s traditional blend of wheat, broad bean and cereal flours.
