Discover Castelluccio Superiore

Castelluccio Superiore stands on a rocky spur at about 680 metres, overlooking the Mercure-Lao valley in the Pollino National Park. Built as a medieval fortified village, it is divided into eight «vicinati», the community’s historic meeting points.

With its lanes and valley views, the village is a good starting point for hikes in the Pollino. At Carnival the «Months of the Year» is performed: twelve men in costume recite stories and verses for each month.
