Castronuovo di Sant’Andrea stands at about 650 metres in the south-east of the province of Potenza, between the Sinni and Serrapotamo valleys. It is the birthplace of Saint Andrew Avellino, whose birth house and sanctuary at Terzo can be visited.

The Palazzo Marchesale houses the MIG, the International Museum of Graphic Arts, alongside a studio-museum devoted to Guido Strazza: a unique collection in Basilicata for lovers of printmaking and contemporary art.
