Francavilla in Sinni

Between the Sinni and Frido rivers, at the foot of the Pollino

Discover Francavilla in Sinni

Francavilla in Sinni stands at about 420 metres between the Sinni and Frido rivers, on the edge of the Pollino National Park, with Monte Caramola behind it. It was founded in 1427 on the estates of the Carthusian monks of San Nicola in Valle, whose traces remain in the area.

In town you can visit the sanctuary of the Madonna di Pompei, celebrated at the end of August, and the church of Saints Felix and Polycarp. The cooking is rich in country dishes: ciambotta vegetable stew, crispy dried peppers fried in batter and lamb gliommarielli.
