Noepoli

A Pollino village above the Sarmento valley

Discover Noepoli

Noepoli, called Noja until 1863, stands at about 680 metres in the Pollino National Park, between the Sarmento and Sinni valleys. Its origins go back to an Oenotrian or Lucanian settlement of the 8th–7th centuries BC.

The 15th-century castle, with a fine stone portal, now houses the town hall; next to it, Piazza Marconi is known as «la torretta». The church of the Visitation, with three naves, is also worth a visit. The village is a good base for walks in the eastern Pollino.
