Palazzo San Gervasio

The d'Errico art gallery and the fields of the upper Bradano

Discover Palazzo San Gervasio

Palazzo San Gervasio stands on a plateau between two valleys in north-eastern Basilicata, surrounded by wheat fields. The first records date from 1082, when it was a farmstead belonging to the Holy Trinity abbey in Venosa.

The town is home to the Camillo d’Errico art gallery, born from an 1897 bequest of one of the largest private art collections in southern Italy, with almost three hundred 17th- and 18th-century canvases. Also worth seeing are the mother church of San Nicola and the places linked to the Norman «Palatium» that gave the town its name.
