Rapolla

Wine, tuff cellars and spa waters of the Vulture

Discover Rapolla

Rapolla lies on the north-eastern slope of Mount Vulture and is known for its wines – Aglianico, Malvasia and Moscato – kept in caves of volcanic tuff in the urban cellar park. Spa springs rise near the Melfia river.

An ancient bishop’s see, it has many churches: the cathedral and the church of Santa Lucia, of Norman origin with Byzantine influences. The area was already inhabited in the Neolithic, as shown by the Toppo d’Avuzzo necropolis.
