San Chirico Nuovo is a small village in the upper Bradano area, north-east of Potenza. Its origins are ancient: a first settlement grew around the 6th century BC at «Serra», less than a kilometre from today’s village.

Surrounded by wheat fields and hills, it is a quiet place to discover rural Basilicata, close to Tolve, Oppido Lucano and Acerenza.
