Discover San Severino Lucano

San Severino Lucano and its hamlets mark the gateway to the heart of the Pollino massif on its north-eastern side, in the Pollino National Park. The village was founded in the 15th century on the Sanseverino family estate, after which it is named.

In its territory, at over 1,500 metres, stands the sanctuary of the Madonna del Pollino, the destination of a heartfelt pilgrimage in July. Trails lead from the village to the beech forests, the Bosco Magnano and the Pollino peaks. At the entrance to the village, the Museum of Peasant Life collects tools and objects of everyday life.
