Sant'Arcangelo

Sant’Arcangelo overlooks the middle Agri valley, among farmland, badlands and the course of the river. Its old town, with its churches and the Molfese Tower, keeps the layout of the medieval village.

A few kilometres away stands the Monastery of Santa Maria di Orsoleo, founded in the 15th century: its cloister, church and restored convent rooms now host multimedia tours telling the story of the friars and the valley.

Sant’Arcangelo is also a handy base for Aliano, the badlands, the Monte Cotugno lake and the Sinni valley.
