Senise

The home of crusco peppers and the Monte Cotugno lake

Discover Senise

Senise stands at about 330 metres in the Sinni valley and is famous for the Peperone di Senise PGI, the sweet pepper that, dried and fried, becomes the celebrated «crusco». Its territory includes the Monte Cotugno lake, one of the largest earth-fill reservoirs in Europe.

The old town, built at the foot of the medieval castle, is a maze of lanes with noble houses such as Palazzo Crocco, Palazzo Guerriero and Palazzo Donnaperna. It is a handy base for the Pollino and the villages of the Sinni valley.
